LIFE IS A CHOICE

The purpose of this article is to explain as clearly and simply as possible what our lives as human beings on Planet Earth are really all about.

We may begin by recognizing that life is essentially a process of gathering wisdom by first making choices and then experiencing the internal as well as the external consequences of our choices. This is the process by means of which we inwardly create our personalities at the same time that we are outwardly creating our lives.

From this it follows that, far from being powerless creatures who are the helpless victims of external circumstances, the fact is that we are powerful creators whose capacity to create our personalities as well as our experiences resides in our internal power to make choices. Thus, for example, how we experience the events in our lives is determined, not so much by what happens, as by how we choose to respond to what happens.

It is only after we have made many choices and gathered much wisdom from a multitude of experiences that we are finally able to arrive at the realization that the fundamental choice in life consists in whether or not we acknowledge and align to the source of our being. Once we have arrived at this key realization, we are then able to make a fundamental distinction between those human beings who acknowledge and align to the source of their being (whom we may call lightworkers) and those human beings who do not acknowledge or align to the source of their being (whom we shall call darkworkers).

Only then are we able to gain insight into the fact that those of us who are darkworkers identify with our embodied mind, which is characterized by the illusion that we are all separate from one another (i.e., separation consciousness), whereas those of us who are lightworkers identify with our inner being, which is characterized by the absolute knowing that we are all integral parts of one universal being (i.e., unity consciousness).

This eventually leads us to the further insight that our inner being is the creator of our embodied mind and that our embodied mind is the divine instrument by means of which we are able to perceive ourselves in physical separation, emotional invalidation, and mental limitation for the purpose of giving ourselves a reverse mirror reflection of the LOVE-WISDOM-POWER that we really are, which serves as a catalyst for gathering the SELF-KNOWLEDGE that allows us to find our way back home to the source of our being.

It thus becomes clear that life is essentially a choice between two radically different orientations: the illusion of separation consciousness, which is the normal orientation of our lower chakras (i.e. our embodied mind) manifesting as the negative attitude of fear-based control that characterizes all darkworkers, and the reality of unity consciousness, which is the natural orientation of our upper chakras (i.e., our inner being) manifesting as the positive attitude of love-based allowance that characterizes all lightworkers.

Or to express this truth in the simplest possible terms: every moment of life is essentially a choice between fear and love.

Of course, the fact of the matter is that we are living in the reality of our inner being and in the illusion of our embodied mind simultaneously, which is precisely what makes our experience of life in this wondrous world of illusion on Planet Earth so incredibly confusing and challenging.

Hence, it is not until we eventually arrive at the enlightened realization that our embodied mind has been intentionally created as a reverse reflection of our inner being that we are finally able to resolve this paradox by recognizing that these seemingly opposite and contradictory aspects of our experience are actually complements, which can be merged into wholeness simply by embracing both aspects in unconditional forgiving love.

Although it might seem as though life is a choice between either imprisoning ourselves with judgmental emotions or liberating ourselves through forgiving love, it is much closer to the truth to say that life in this wondrous world of illusion on Planet Earth is essentially a process of first learning how to imprison ourselves with judgments and then learning how to liberate ourselves from our self-imposed mental prisons through forgiveness.

In any case, the distinction that we are making between reality and illusion is absolutely crucial if we wish to arrive at a clear understanding of our situation. For, although the illusion is that we are human beings having some spiritual experiences, the reality is that we are spiritual beings having some human experiences. And although we may appear to be many different beings when viewed from the perspective of separation consciousness, the fact remains that we are all integral parts of one universal being when viewed from the perspective of unity consciousness.

Let us therefore conclude our brief explanation by noting that the moral of this story is: DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY APPEARANCES.
